Jordi Matas Domènech
He begins his studies in Esparreguera and goes on to the Superior Degree in Modern Music and jazz in Barcelona's Taller de Músics with José Luís Gámez, Víctor de Diego, Horacio Fumero and Alfons Carrascosa. He has also attended the”Seminari Internacional de Jazz d'Igualada" with Sam Yahel, Benny Golson and Idris Muhammad, as well as the "Seminari Internacional al Palau de la Música de València" with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mark Turner, Nasheet Waits, Ben Street, Bruce Barth and Michael P.Mossman.
Jordi has studied with José luís Gámez, Jordi Bonell, Rick Peckam, Ben Monder, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Peter Bernstein.
He has been awarded with the prices:

Nowadays he is the leader of the bands Jordi Matas Quintet, Jordi Matas Trio and HAT. He actively collaborates with Xavi Maureta (Instint Animal). He has participated with musicians such as David Mengual, Albert Bover, Llibert Fortuny, Chris Higgins, Víctor de Diego, Albert Sanz, Jo Krause, Benet Palet, Gorka Benítez, Peer Wiborys, Falk Willis, Raynald Colom, Jules Bikoko, Ike Stubblefield, Alexis Cuadrado, Nat Su, Guillermo Klein, John Ellis.
